2019- End of the Year Recap

Updated: Jan 1, 2020

Happy New Year. It is officially the year 2020. But I want to take a moment and reflect on what an amazing year 2019 was to me and Winkel Gallery. In total we sold 43 paintings this year, shattering 2017's previous record of 35 sold works.

I cannot begin to explain how grateful I am to have so much support in these 4 1/2 years of business. I had so much faith when deciding to open the gallery but I did not expect to sell a total of 162 works in four years while averaging around 36 paintings per year.

I also experimented with two new techniques this year. The first technique was 'large scale glass sculptures,' and the second was 'textured abstract pastels.' The large scale sculptures came to life because I was attempting to take my large scale ink blots and turn them into large three dimensional pieces that take up minimum space. So far these new sculptures have been well received and I'm excited to create new ones in 2020.

One of my favorite moments of the year was the in-home gallery exhibit hosted by my amazing clients Joe Palumbo & Steve Marker. They were gracious enough to open up their beautiful home for an art exhibit. The event started with art lovers and great conversations and ended with new clients and friendships.

I have built lasting relationships with my clients and I always want them to know that I truly appreciate their support because without them I would not be able to continue to do this for a living.

Overall 2019 was an amazing year and I am excited to take on 2020 and make it bigger and better than 2019. Happy New Years and I wish everyone has a year full of health, success and prosperity.
